Molly M. Hyer grew up in Jackson Hole Wyoming. She attended Randolph-Macon College (Ashland, VA) where she discovered a passion for neuroscience. Following graduation in 2009 with her B.A. in Psychology, she entered a Master’s program in Neuroscience at Bucknell University where she studied the effects of dopamine on sexual and aggressive behavior in golden hamsters. In the fall of 2012 she entered the Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences (NACS) doctoral program at the University of Maryland. For the past three years she has been working in the lab of Dr. Erica Glasper on experience-dependent plasticity in the mammalian brain with a focus on paternal experience using a monogamous, biparental mouse model (Peromyscus californicus).
